We are looking for someone who:

  • Thinks outside of the box - you never utter the words: “Well, that’s just the way things are done”.
  • Is comfortable switching it up – someone who can move from thinking about UX, to visual appeal, to specific project needs, and beyond.
  • Is driven by design aesthetics, but whose designs are deeply anchored in usability.
  • Is excited about using design and software to tell an industry’s story.
  • Loves to do research but thrives on rolling up their sleeves and getting things done.
  • Sees a concept through from ideation to execution.
  • Is comfortable using both quantitative and qualitative data to inform the design process.
  • Is a sponge when it comes to learning about our user’s business, and who isn’t afraid to delve into the details of complex insurance products.
  • Is comfortable operating in a scrappy “get the job done” environment and is also excited to help build out a more formalized design role within our organization.
  • Enjoys operating “in the grey”, working to tease out user’s needs and coming up with creative solutions for their pain point.
  • Has experience working with remote engineering teams.

  • Two years’ experience designing software products.
  • Excellent visual and UI design skills.
  • Strong user experience design skills: understands information architecture and multi-step flows.
  • Strong product-thinking skills: understands how designs support user goals, team's goals, the broader product vision, and company objectives.
  • Proven experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research to inform your design work.
  • Skilled in the modern design stack, including Figma and Sketch as well as the Adobe design suite.
  • Experience working at other fintech or insurtech startups not required, but a strong plus.
